Looking at Learning measurements are based on school improvement principles and recommendations described by others. In the following bibliography, readers can find references to much of the foundational work upon which Looking at Learning is based. Specifically, Looking at Learning is reflective of the work done by Marzano, McTighe and Wiggins.

Zemelman, Daniels and Hyde’s compilation presents recommendations for what we should see less of and more of in high performing classrooms. Their recommendations can form the basis for the reform efforts at the classroom level, but these recommendations are without quantity recommendations. Looking at Learning can help teachers establish baseline data and be the tool for monitoring changes as they occur.
